We’re an innovation consultancy. We help our clients change. We come up with new products, business models, brands, services, delivery innovation, and processes… so it’s pretty varied. Innovation Lead

9-12 months’ maternity cover contract for an innovation leader.

We’re looking for an intellectual sparring partner who can lead client relationships, crunch tricky innovation challenges and inspire & nurture the innovation capability of those around them.

This is a highly influential role for someone with a passion and proven track record in innovation and the desire to make their own mark as part of the leadership team of both How To Impact and the Deepend Group.

Salary $140k-$180k.

The right candidate…

  • Has a broad spectrum of innovation project management – including product, service and experience design.

  • Understands FMCG and managing product design

  • Is a pro-facilitator with the energy and smarts to think on their feet in front of a room of senior clients and lead their thinking

  • Is disciplined and able to juggle multiple tasks

  • Has a crackling sense of humour and is fun to be around

  • Knows ethnographic research and can identify/act on inspiring insights

  • is a business leader who can inspire people and are plugged-in to their own innovation network

  • Is a creative thinker who innately understands ideation techniques

  • Enjoys the dynamic of a ‘big-small’ company structure (bigger group benefits, small company intimacy)

What will you do?

Lead innovation projects:

The right candidate will have direct experience in a variety of design-thinking disciplines – from strategy, to insight definition, concept development and test & learn prototyping. Our work covers a diverse range from: disruptive innovation, category revolution, product/experience/service design and agile implementation.

  • Plan the structure and content of diverse projects from fast turnaround workshops to complex innovation platform development projects

  • Challenge & stretch thinking through facilitated sessions and insightful documentation in order to clarify growth opportunities, the development of inspiration insights and solutions

  • Co-ordinate internal and external resources required to deliver project, including development of new partner-supplier networks

  • Develop insights, ideas and business cases

  • Manage prototyping sprints and implementation planning

  • Generate growth strategies and negotiate the commercial landscape to make those ideas a reality

  • Offer counsel and continuity and look to identify the next challenge

Deepend Group Strategic Insight:

  • Work closely with Deepend Group colleagues to deliver strategic insight across all their experience design and customer experience briefs

Capability:

  • Train client teams on innovation:
    - Keynotes on Innovation Mindsets
    - Action Learning programmes
    - Agile implementation boot-camps
    - Tailored learning modules
    - Client team coaching

Client development & management:

  • Build, manage & grow client relationships into client partnerships that involve innovation discussions at a deeper

  • Nurture your extended network to push beyond our existing client base

  • Maintain high levels of client satisfaction

Inspire and coach H2i team

  • Help develop and nurture our team – a ‘pro’ at giving and receiving feedback

  • Help source and recruit A-team talent

Profile-building & Marketing

  • Responsibility for spotting and delivering profile-building opportunities

  • Work with management team on overall company marketing strategy and delivery

IP Development

  • Will be highly involved in roll-out of new innovation IP in Innovation Frameworks and Agile Implementation

  • A yen for developing and testing new IP
